On January 10th, Toyota unveiled the "Prius Family" at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. Toyota has decided to add the Prius C concept, Prius V and the Prius Plug-in Hybrid to the line up, giving more options in terms of style to consumers. So now people are asking "What's the plural of Prius?". Take a peak at the brief summaries of the Prius C concept, Prius V and the Prius Plug-In Hybrid vehicles...LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK! Comment at the end of this post!
The Prius C concept should be arriving in early 2012. The C has been deemed the most affordable in the Prius Family as well as higher miles per gallon rating than the 3rd generation Prius (which get 51 city/48 highway mpg). The C concept will also be smaller than the other family members and boosts more style with its revamped, futuristic body style. Overall, the Prius C concept has more of a sporty appeal, all while being slightly more affordable than its siblings.
The Prius V is definitely the big brother of the family. According to the manufacturer, "V" stands for "versitility". Toyota reports that the V will have 50% more cargo room than the 3rd generation Prius. The body style is longer and taller than the 3rd generation and C concept. It is reported that the Prius V will get about 42 city/38 highway miles per gallon. The V was designed with families in mind with all its extra room and sliding seats. Ever heard of an "infotainment" system? Well, this car has one.. the Entune⢠feature is available. It reads text messages to you and allows you to verbally responded with certain responses as well as other voice operated commands. Overall, this goes out to those mini-van, eco-friendly families out there! The Prius V should be available summer 2011.
